We are delighted to unveil the stunning redesign of The Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne, Miami. Expertly crafted by the CHAPI Design team, the transformation draws inspiration from the island’s natural beauty, incorporating vibrant textures and a serene, island-inspired color palette. The result is an elegantly harmonious space that thoughtfully blends refined design with the tranquil charm of Key Biscayne. This refreshed ambiance creates a welcoming retreat for both locals and discerning travelers alike.

A sanctuary shaped by history and landscape

CHAPI Design’s concept draws inspiration from Key Biscayne’s earliest identity as a place of refuge – a protected harbour, a pirate hideaway, and later, an abundant agricultural enclave. This sense of seclusion and shelter informs the guestrooms’ hushed palette: enveloping sands, sun-bleached woods, soft neutrals and misty coastal tones that frame uninterrupted ocean or garden views through floor-to-ceiling windows. Private terraces extend the experience outdoors, blurring the line between interior calm and island atmosphere.

 “We wanted guests to feel as though they’ve arrived somewhere quietly known only to them,” Tatiana explains. “A modern echo of the island’s earliest role as a place of arrival, recovery and rest.”

Layered into this serene foundation are tactile references to the island’s orchard past – once the largest coconut exporter in the United States. Subtle botanical influences emerge through woven textures, pale greens, warm ambers and organic silhouettes. Rounded furnishings, handcrafted finishes and softened edges recall tools and vessels of agrarian life, grounding the contemporary experience in the richness of the land.
